The Basson family recently returned from a year in New Delhi, on an international assignment through IBM Research. Sara was sent to work on a project called Spoken Web, which brings internet-like access to poor, illiterate populations, using speech recognition and mobile phones. She will present an overview of the experience from a personal and business perspective.

Due to the prevalence of Indian maids and cooks, her Indian cooking skills have not developed all that much, but she will bring homemade Indian sweets (burfi, and kheer).
