Join the Social Action Chevra in the Elm Street Garden to celebrate our 3rd year there. Together with the Elm Street Youth Center families and our partner synagogues we will enjoy fresh garden herbs, a light pizza dinner, and fun!
For those who do not know the garden's history...in a struggling Yonkers neighborhood, diverse community groups have come together and transformed a vacant littered lot into a thriving vegetable garden. The Elm Stree Garrden Project introduces children and their parents to healthy eating through growing, cooking and tasting homegrown vegetables and herbs.
The garden has been funded by grants from UJA-Federation of New York for Jewish Social Action Month, and is a parnership between the Elm Street Youth Center and BAS, Congregation Kol Ami and Hebrew Institute of White Plains.
The garden is located across the street from 217 Elm Street, Yonkers. Park on the street or in the parking lot at 217 Elm Street. RSVP to Ronnie Berlin.
