Acharei Kiddush: Chasing Social Justice

November 14, 2020 at 12:30 pm - 1:30 pm

How do we advance the work that matters most? Social justice work, while deeply meaningful and utterly essential, can be confounding; raising many complex questions.   Activist and author Laurie Sherman will address these questions in an unusually poignant and accessible way. She will combine lived experience with political analysis and illuminating lessons learned over the past three decades across social justice movements, initiatives, and organizations.  Laurie will read some excerpts from her book, Chasing Social Justice and lead us in a discussion about how the lessons can apply to the challenges of today, including the pandemic and our work to address racism.  For more information on Laurie’s book or her work, visit www.ChasingSocialJustice.com.You may purchase the paperback or e-book from a local independent bookstore here.Zoom registration here__________________________________________Activist and author Laurie Sherman has spent more than three decades in leadership positions addressing health, human services and educational issues in  Boston city government and in social justice movements, initiatives, and organizations.     Zoom link TBD.Non-members may contact the office to obtain the Zoom link.Questions?
