Adult Bible Study Mini Course

The community is invited to participate in the first part of an Adult Bible Study Group mini-course.

Roz Schulman will lead an overview and readings from select portions of the books of Joshua, Judges, Samuel and Kings.  No prior background required.

Additional sessions: July 14, July 21, August 4, and August 11.

The July sessions will be led by David Badain and will compare the Quran and other traditional Islamic texts with the stories of Abraham, Sarah, Isaac and Ishmael in our Biblical texts.

On August 4 Penny Grossman will curate a program of musical interpretations of Genesis stories.  In commemoration of Tish’a B’Av on August 11 David will facilitate a study of selected chapters of the Book of Lamentations.

In September the group will resume its study of the Book of Genesis from the perspective of medieval commentators (typically on all Sunday mornings on which the Hebrew School is in session).

No prior background is necessary and all are welcome to attend one or more sessions.

Contact David Badain with any questions.
