Eating Animals: Film Screening

 

Where do our eggs, dairy and meat come from?  Academy Award-winner Natalie Portman and author Jonathan Safran Foer present Eating Animals, an eye-opening look at the food industry.

Through the intimate stories of several farmers, the documentary – narrated by Portman – explores ending the factory farm system that pollutes our environment, endangers our health, and treats animals inhumanely. The film depicts a future where traditional farming is no longer a distant memory, but is instead the only way forward.  

Raising awareness of how food animals are treated is a Jewish value, as is the impact of agriculture on the environment.

After the screening, Rabbi Michael Goldman will lead a discussion of the issues. Free popcorn will be served!

Admission is free, but registration would be appreciated.
