Adam and Anna live the dream millennial Paris life, including having parents to babysit so they can finally take their honeymoon. They’re off to Poland, partly to commemorate Adam’s grandfather’s Jewish village, destroyed in the war, and partly to help Anna, who fears all traces of her Jewish ancestry have been destroyed.
What emerges in this thought-provoking, intelligently humorous film from French director Elise Otzenberger is a couple’s complex journey of self discovery as they grapple not just with the past, but with present-day anti-Semitism masked as celebration of Jewish culture.
