Welcome experienced and new gardeners. We can all learn and contribute something, especially the invaluable experience that didn’t work. Guest speakers will include BAS members who will share their gardening knowledge.
Topic this session: Gina Schwartz and others will talk about unexpectedly harmful or beneficial plants and insects, invasives and volunteers; why native plants are important.
We’ll think about how Shmita principles might guide our choices in the garden. The Shmita year, the year of “Release” or rest for the land (Shmita) as described in Torah, occurs on a 7 year cycle and happens to start on Rosh Hashanah this year.
