Reverse Tashlich

The day after Yom Kippur, Sunday, Oct. 13, let’s extend our spiritual high with Reverse Tashlich: take our trash out of our local rivers, instead of throwing our sins into the sea to cleanse our souls!
Reverse Tashlich is a program of Repair the Sea, Tikkun haYam. BAS is participating with them, Groundwork Hudson Valley and the Elmsford CSC/CAC (Climate Smart Community/Conservation Advisory Council), working with our community to clean up our local Saw Mill River and the County Trail in Elmsford.
Who: Open to all ages, kids to seniors
When: Check-in at 9:30am – Welcome at 10am – Clean-up, 10:30 till 1:30pm – Lunch 1:30 – 2pm
Where: Meet at the Elmsford Deli and then take a quick walk to the site. Parking will be available in the lot across the street from the Elmsford Deli on Vreeland Ave. Additional parking spots will be available on Elm Place.
What: Bring water in a reusable bottle and wear a hat, long pants, long sleeves and sturdy close-toed shoes. Also gloves if you have them, and bug spray. Elmsford will supply equipment, trash bags and a limited supply of gloves. Those who can and want will be given waders to wear and work on trash removal from within the river. Those who prefer can enter info on what we collect in a database for RepairTheSea.org.
Sign up here through Repair The Sea.
Thank you for walking with us on this journey to maintain a livable Earth through our Jewish values.
