Annual Congregational Meeting 2021
During the evening of June 21, 2021, Bet Am Shalom held our second online Annual Congregational Meeting. Rabbi Bronstein began with a Niggun, and then Chairperson of our Board, Susan Roth, welcomed everyone. Our President, Barbara Aloni, conducted our Zoom meeting.
We watched a slideshow, which had musical accompaniment, assembled by Paula Markowitz Wittlin, showing visual highlights of the past year. Rachel Halperin, Secretary, led us in approving the minutes from last year’s Annual Meeting. Eric Levine walked us through approval votes on two proposed bylaws amendments.
We discussed synagogue business and Barbara Aloni conducted the appointment of the School Board Chair and new School Board Members. Elise Goldman then introduced our new Director of Jewish Family Education and Engagement, Lisa Jacobs. Brian Peters presented the budget for the coming year and then Ellen Cutler Levy gave us a Marketing and Communications Update. Paula Markowitz Wittlin introduced the BAS Virtual Craft Auction, and urged everyone to visit the website, BiddingOwl.com/BASAuction. Barbara Aloni gave her President’s report, and Todah Rabah to outgoing officers. Rabbi Bronstein offered a Mi Sheberach for outgoing Chair of the Board Susan Roth, which brought tears to many eyes. Our Cantor, Benjie Ellen Schiller led us in a closing Niggun.
