BAS Together Artists’ Studios Tour
Early on the morning of March 12, 2023, after springing our clocks ahead an hour, a group of intrepid and artistically inclined BAS congregants gathered near the southeast edge of New Rochelle to tour the studios of 4 resident artists: Jane Balanoff, an Installation Artist, Deborah Haley, a Jewelry and Textile Artist, Valeri Larko, An Urban Landscape Painter, and Nancy Nikkal, who is an Abstract Painter and Mixed Media Collagist. The building has housed artists’ studios and apartments for more than 20 years and is a local treasure. David Fine and Laura Solomon arranged for our group to learn about these 4 artists, see their studios and artworks, follow-up with an authentic Italian lunch just blocks away from their studios, and get to know each other for the first time, or better. It truly was an enriching experience about forging and deepening connections.
