Overview

Bet Am Shalom is about getting involved. It is who we are. It is how we get to know each other. It is how we serve our community and how we enhance our Jewish identity.

In addition to giving financial support, we support our synagogue community by donations of our time and expertise. Our members do everything from producing a quarterly newsletter (Lev La'am) to setting up the folding chairs in the tent where we hold our High Holy Day services.

Our members participate in Shabbat services, run programs, teach classes, compose songs, write plays and organize social action projects. And other members simply get involved by serving on a committee, volunteering a few hours, or attending a program or class.

We value everyone's efforts, be they small or large. Join us for an hour, a day or more.

It is the energy and passion that each of us brings to the work that sustains our life as a community. We encourage new members to find their way into our community by getting involved ... in something! Read the brief descriptions on our site and then contact a group directly to volunteer, or contact the synagogue office betamshalom@betamshalom.org or (914) 946-8851.

Please consider the various options on the Volunteer Action Form, fill out the form and return it to the synagogue office. A committee chair will then contact you. We can help you find an activity that's right for you.
