The " Well Method" of Making Blintzes for Shavuot

Learn how to make blintzes for Shavuot  with BAS congregant and chef Craig Pellis.

Cook along with Chef Craig or simply watch and learn.

To cook along, you'll need:

Crepe Recipe

  • ¾ cup flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp orange zest (from ½ orange)
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 Tbl. melted butter (for recipe)
  • 2 Tbl. and/or ¼ cup oil (for cooking)

Filling Recipe

  • 1 Lb. farmers cheese
  • 1 Tb  melted butter
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • ¼ cup white sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • ¼ cup raisins (optional)

For Cooking: 

  •  2 Tbl. and/or ¼  cup oil

Equipment

  • 2 Qts. mixing bowl
  • whisk
  • 4 oz. ladle
  • 8’ or 10” heavy stainless steel pan OR non-stick pan OR crepe maker
  • wood spoon, tongs or spatula
