Acharei Kiddush: Book Discussion- “Healing Into Wholeness: The Personal and Professional Journey of an Integrative Psychiatrist”

Join us for an Acharei Kiddush to hear long-time Bet Am Shalom member David Aftergood, MD, a holistically oriented psychiatrist, discuss his recently published and well-received book Healing Into Wholeness: The Personal and Professional Journey of an Integrative Psychiatrist. In his book, David addresses the questions of how we heal and what is needed for healing to restore wholeness, balance, and meaning. In his private psychiatric practice, David pursues multiple healing philosophies and modalities including hypnotherapy, meditation, trauma treatment, and Kabbalah. He is a well-sought-out teacher, has led multiple training and supervision groups for therapists, and has conducted national and international workshops on topics related to integrative psychiatry. He has led popular guided spiritual meditations at Bet Am Shalom for many years.

The discussion will be facilitated by Dr. David Arnow, Ph.D., a long-time BAS member, clinical psychologist, and prolific Jewish scholar. His books include Creating Lively Passover Seders: A Sourcebook of Tales, Texts & Activities; My People’s Passover Haggadah; Exodus Conversations ~ How the Story of the Exodus Speaks to Jews, Christians, and Muslims; Leadership in the Bible: A Practical Guide for Today; and Choosing Hope: The Heritage of Judaism. His writings on Jewish subjects have appeared in numerous Jewish newspapers and academic journals.
