She has worked in various Jewish settings with infants through older adults, and most recently as Chair of the Visual and Performing Arts Department at Gann Academy, a pluralistic Jewish high school in Waltham, Massachusetts.

Lisa holds a B.A. from Tufts University in Child Development and Comparative Religion, an M.M from the New England Conservatory, and an M.A. from Lesley University in Expressive Therapies.

Lisa is a board-certified music therapist and licensed mental health counselor and believes that lasting, and impactful Jewish education addresses the whole child – body, mind, and spirit.  Social-emotional learning and supporting mental health are at the heart of her educational philosophy.  She values an authentic relational approach both in and outside of the classroom and is excited to get to know every member of the Bet Am community.

She has performed as a vocalist with the Klezmer Conservatory Band and other Boston-based ensembles and has written, composed, and arranged pieces for Jewish a cappella and choral groups in the Northeast.  She brings her love of music with her to Bet Am and believes it is one of the essential keys in unlocking tefillah (prayer) for children.
