Welcome to The Open Tent

… Abraham and Sarah’s dwelling, welcoming friends and strangers arriving from all directions.

… a temporary resting place, a shelter, a home that is open to the stars and ready to travel with you wherever your journey takes you.

For us, the Open Tent started as a big temporary sanctuary set up each year for the High Holy Days on the lawn of Bet Am Shalom Synagogue in White Plains, N.Y., inviting anyone and everyone to come and learn, find community, and connect spiritually — free of charge, no membership needed, no seating assigned.

Now it is also a metaphor for the ways we enhance and expand our community beyond synagogue walls. It’s a platform for exploring meaning, spirituality, learning, social justice, joy, and connection, all in an openhearted, fully inclusive, and non-judgmental way.

The Open Tent is an experiment and we would like you to be part of it.

Come join us on our journey.
